VISIT #1

Arrived today at 4:00 and ran into a little problem. Was able to get into the house and clean the upstairs litter box, but the downstairs was completely taped off due to painting. Luckily a very nice construction worker offered to be sure there was food and water for the cats downstairs before he left because there was no way to get into the rooms. Went down to the chickens and made sure they were full up on food and water and gathered 14 eggs.
I will return on Thursday and hopefully have access to the poor cats! :)

Final visit

Went for our final visit Friday at 3:00. Zeus was my greeter today, and he watched me clean the upstairs litter box. Headed downstairs and filled up the water dish and topped off the cat's food. Played for a little while and said goodbye to both kitty's.

Headed out and filled the chickens water. Slipped and slided in the mud but managed to stay upright to get the food full as well.
Collected 10 eggs and said goodbye to the girls.
It was an uneventful and good week!! When I left all was well and everyone was happy!!

Visit #2

Arrived at 3 o'clock today and were greeted at the door by Zeus. Alissa went right to work making sure the cats got lots of attention while I cleaned the upstairs litter box. The cats were both eager to go outside, sorry guys.. your people will be home soon!
Headed downstairs and cleaned the litter box, filled water dish and topped off the food.
Chickens had plenty of water, but topped it off just in case.. filled up their food and they got right to digging out the corn.
Collected an even dozen eggs and went on our way.
We will return Friday afternoon for a final visit! :)

Visit #1

Arrived today at 4:00 and Dante and Zeus were both there to great us at the door. First task was to clean the upstairs litter box.. with that done we headed downstairs.

I filled the cats water dish and topped off food. Cleaned the litter box and we played for a little bit.
Then we went out to the chickens and found they had no water, filled it up and they were happy gals! :) They still had a little food left, topped that off as well.
We gathered 16 eggs!! Alissa was very happy and proudly carried the eggs to the car.
Everyone was doing great! We will return on Wednesday.

Visit #1

Arrived today at 4:45 and entered through the garage. Went back to get Porter and she came bounding out of the room very excited to see me. I don't think it dawned on her that I was a stranger :) Took her outside and gave her a scoop of food which she promptly gulped down. I watched to be sure she did her business and she complied by watering the lawn a couple times.
We ran around the backyard for awhile and played... caught her shaking her head -
Now.. if you were a bad guy and saw this coming toward you it would be pretty intimidating, right? Oh, don't be fooled ;)
She promptly knocked me over and slobbered my camera right after the shot :)
We played for about 20 minutes and then I sat down so she would wander off and finish her business.. she snuck around the corner for some privacy and a quick peek confirmed the deed was done. I filled up her water dish outside and we headed in. I double checked to be sure she had water left in the bathroom and she did. I was about to leave when I noticed the tv was on, but not on a station -- it was on some kind of informational mode. It said to hit select to view the tv, so I did.. and then left a very happy and worn out Porter to watch NASCAR (sorry Porter hehe). Double checked to be sure everything was locked up tight and left through the garage. Will return in the morning for breakfast time.

Visit #4 - Final visit.

Arrived at the house today at 3:30. Brought the kids with me today and Alissa had a blast playing with the cats. I cleaned the upstairs litter box first and again one of the cats didn't make it into the litter a couple times, I can't quite imagine how they could misfire like that.. but I digress. :)

We headed downstairs and filled the water dish and topped off their food. Cleaned up the litter box and spent a little time giving the cats some love. Then we said our goodbye's and headed out to check on the chickens.
Everyone was doing great and happy to see us. Cleaned and filled the water and filled up their food container. Again I was amazed at how much these little gals can eat.
Collected thirteen eggs and said goodbye to the chickens.
It was fun to be back again and hang out with Dante, Zeus, and the seven chickens! :) We left and everyone was happy, healthy, and eager to see their people.

Visit #3

Arrived at the house yesterday 3:00 and knew right away the house keeper had been there! :) I was greeted OUTSIDE by Zeus!! Hmm.. he followed me to the door which was no surprise because it was raining and miserable outside. I grabbed the key and entered the garage with Zeus in tow and then ran into a little problem.. I couldn't get the door to open. Hmm.. ok, no panic went back out and made it into the front door. When I went back to the garage I checked the door and it just must have been jammed because it opened fine from the inside. Cleaned the upstairs litter box and looked around for Dante.. found her outside on the back patio pleading with her eyes to come in out of the weather. Let her in and we all headed downstairs.
Both cats went right to the food so they must have been outside for some time. The food and water dishes were full already and the downstairs litter box was clean. While checking these things I noticed the sound of water running.. hmm.. followed my ears to the downstairs bathroom and discovered it was the toilet. I am no expert with toilets, but I opened the lid and jiggled a few things and prest-o! It stopped running. No extra charge for plumbing services ;)
It was time to feed some chickens.. headed outside and fed and watered the chickens then gathered an even dozen eggs. Double checked that the house was locked up since I didn't take my normal route and headed home.

Visit #2

Here was my greeter: Arrived 4/27 at 2:45. Cleaned the upstairs litter box (one of the cats has an interesting aim) and headed down.
Topped off food and water and cleaned up the downstairs litter box. Everyone was happy and healthy!! :) Time to check on the chickens...
Filled up the food and water and gathered 13 eggs. Sneaky chickens tried to get by me but I out clucked them. :)

Visit #1

It was nice to be back and say hi to the cats again! We arrived on 04/25 at 3pm to a Zeus greeting!! I cleaned the upstairs litter box first and noticed there was no water in seedlings so added a little for them. Then we all headed downstairs...
Once down the cats wasted no time begging to go outside :) Filled the water dish, topped off there food.. cleaned the litter box and spent a little time saying hello.
Headed outside and did a quick head count -- all there!! :)
Filled the food and washed and filled the water container. Collected eight eggs and said our goodbye's.

Visit #6

We arrived today at 12:00 for our final visit. I opened the door expecting my Zeus greeting but he wasn't there.. hmm.. Dante soon joined us for some attention and I figured Zeus would show up sooner or later. I cleaned the litter boxes and topped off the food and water. Dante got a ton of affection and was soaking it up. :)

We headed out to check on the chickens and this is what we saw coming towards us:
ZEUS!! The crazy cat must have convinced the housekeeper to let him out. We tried to coax him back into the house with no luck. He was on the prowl for little critters I'm sure.
The chickens were great.. they managed to bump their water dish again and it was sitting cockeyed and empty. Filled it up (and the faucet worked fine) and filled their empty food container as well. Man those chickens go through a lot of food!! Gathered up the eggs and there were thirteen today. We will sure miss those eggs!! Mmmm..
We were getting ready to leave and I was explaining this was our last visit. Alissa was a little sad to say goodbye to her new friends. She ran to the door to say goodbye to Dante.

All in all we had a great time caring for Zeus, Dante, and all seven chickens. Everyone is happy and healthy and eager for their family to return. Thank you for the opportunity to pet sit for you.. hope you had an awesome trip!! :)

Visit #5

Arrived today at 12:00 and forgot my camera!! :( Probably a good thing in the end because it was pouring rain and all the slip and sliding I did in the chicken coop I may have dropped it. Anyhow, we had a great visit!! The cats are happy and healthy.. again they decided they mostly wanted to use the upstairs litter box for some reason. I cleaned both boxes and topped off food and water. Played for a bit and then headed out in the rain to see how the chickens were doing. This picture is from the last visit:

She was giving me the evil eye wanting me to let her out! :) Chickens were doing great, filled the water up. While filling the water the outside faucet lost pressure a couple times and water just came out in a trickle, not sure if this is something that normally happens with well water or not but it took a little longer to fill the container because of this. Got it and their food filled up and sloshed my way out of there! It was really wet and really muddy. Good thing I wore my old shoes! :) Went to collect eggs and found eleven. Not too shabby at all!! My whole family has been enjoying these eggs.. going to miss those chickens!! Hehe..

We will return on Sunday to make sure everything is in order for our last visit.

Visit #4

We arrived today at 11:05. Zeus would be an excellent Wal-Mart greeter! :) I cleaned up both litter boxes and added some fresh litter to the upstairs one because it was getting low. Topped off the cat's food and water and spent some time giving them some attention.

We locked up the house and headed down to the chickens. Found their water half full so topped it off and filled their food container. Notice her head is buried in there? Crazy chicken. :)

Egg gathering time!! Someone was sitting on a few eggs and was not too pleased with me grabbing them away, I of course apologized profusely. ;) Today I found thirteen eggs... yumm.

Visit #3

Arrived today at 11:00 to our normal Zeus greeting. Cleaned litter boxes and topped off food and water. Then we spent a little time petting and loving on the cats.. even Zeus wanted a little affection today!

And yes there was a little bit of hovering around the door. They could see the sunshine and wanted to go out and play. I told them to hang tight for a little longer. :)
After some play time I watered the plants as instructed. The seedlings were out of water completely and there was a tiny bit left in the big plant box.
We locked up the house and headed out to see how the chickens were doing.
Everyone was accounted for and doing great!! The water dish was just about empty and there were some very thirsty chickens!! Filled it up for them and topped off the food container.

They were busy chickens again!! Seventeen eggs today.. two of which were laid on the ground of their pen. We collected them all and headed home at about 11:45.
